Parking Meter History

Meter rates in Chattanooga went to $0.50 an hour in 1988 and then to $0.75 an hour in 2008.

The rates were raised again to $1.00 per hour on September 1, 2015.

Meter hours were also changed to 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday-Saturday in the Downtown area. And 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM Monday-Saturday on Riverfront Parkway and Northshore.

Illegal parking (parking near fire hydrants, in bus or loading zones, double parking, blocking intersections, in restricted neighborhoods, etc.) are enforced 24/7.
